God Can Fix It

Updated: Apr 8, 2020

The italicized paragraphs are my thoughts, reflections, as well as declarations based on scripture (Healing Praises) for you to recite aloud. In fact, I recommend reading all of the scriptures aloud.) ( Scripture references are from NIV unless otherwise noted.)

Deuteronomy 30:3-5 - The Lord, your God, will restore your fortunes and will have compassion on you; he will again gather you from all the peoples where the Lord, your God, has scattered you. 4 Though you may have been dispersed to the farthest corner of the heavens, even from there will the Lord, your God, gather you; even from there will he bring you back. 5 The Lord, your God, will then bring you into the land your ancestors once possessed, that you may possess it; and he will make you more prosperous and numerous than your ancestors. (NAB)

No problem is too hard for God. God will restore you and you will be better off than you were originally. So, your marriage is not too far gone, your child is not too far gone, your health is not too far gone, but we have a part to play. Here’s where I am adding the previous verse.

Deuteronomy 30:2 - and when you and your children return to the Lord your God and obey him with all your heart and with all your soul according to everything I command you today.

Isaiah 61:7 - Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours.

Zechariah 9:12 - Return to your fortress, you prisoners of hope; even now I announce that I will restore twice as much to you.

I have heard several ministers refer to this scripture in Isaiah, and they each use the same phrase, “You’ll get double for your trouble.” Hallelujah! It doesn’t matter what you’ve done or what was done to you, God can fix it. But, don’t run away, run towards God. If needed, repent and ask forgiveness. If something was done to you, ask God to help you to forgive. The word everlasting stands out for me too. We need to get out of the way, and let God fight the battle. He will remove the shame and restore you beyond your imagination and your joy won’t be temporary!

Healing Praise: Thank you Lord, I live without shame or disgrace and receive a double portion of your blessings with everlasting joy.

Romans 8:26 - In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.

28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Live long enough and you’ll be able to identify with a time when you did not know what to say or pray. There have been times I wanted to pray, but the pain and grief blocked my words from forming. In my heart I was calling on Jesus. Believers, know that the Holy Spirit intercedes for us. The Holy Spirit also intercedes for me when I pray in my prayer language, the gift of tongues. When I don’t know what to do or say about something, or need any type of help, I pray in tongues. I may hear an ambulance’s siren, and I’ll start praying. I don’t know what’s going on or needed, but Holy Spirit knows, and He speaks to the Father on my behalf.

Romans 15:13 - May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

I felt overwhelming joy while lying in bed in the dark, Sunday night. It was something I had not experienced in a long time. No, everything is not perfect but I have hope, and I was reminded of God promises. Sometimes, we need to be reminded.

Healing Praise: Thank you Lord, I trust in you; therefore I have joy and peace, and I overflow with spirit-filled hope.

Psalms 103: 2-6 Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—3 who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, 4 who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, 5 who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. The Lord works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed.

Read the above verses out loud and make it personal by replacing the word “your” with “my” or use your name.

II Corinthians 4:16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.

II Corinthians 4:17-18 - For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Although we show sign of age outwardly, inwardly, our soul is being renewed day by day. So, the troubles we have here on earth are temporary and it’s preparing us for eternal glory. Whatever is broken in my life, God can fix it; I need to do what I can do, trust in Him and not dwell on what is seen and temporary, but focus on the unseen, eternal glory.

Healing Praises - Thank you, Lord, what I have to gain outweighs the troubles which have come my way and are temporary because You deliver me from them all. Therefore, I do not lose heart for You are strengthening me inwardly day by day.
